So I mentioned about a month ago that I was getting ready to release the B-sides from Identity through NoiseTrade. The album was ready (save for a title and a cover), but in the meantime I’ve had an epiphany. See, the point of NoiseTrade is to get people to share my music with people who otherwise would never hear of it. Viral growth and all those marketing buzzwords.
Now, I have no intention of charging for the B-side album. I’ll probably post it as a zip file here on madcrasher.com in some eventual future. But I don’t want to explicitly encourage sharing of the stuff that wasn’t good enough, I want you to share my best stuff. So, effective immediately, Identity is now available as a “Pay what you want/Tell 5 people” download. See the widget to the right, or just visit my page at NoiseTrade.
And please please PLEASE if you haven’t already be my fan on facebook!
As some of you are no doubt aware, facebook has begun offering custom usernames. My personal profile, for example, is now facebook.com/evan.hildreth . However, in order for me to register facebook.com/madcrasher, the madcrasher fan page must have 1000 fans.
So first: If you’re not already a fan of madcrasher, go to the page and click the “Become a fan” button! Second, tell your friends about madcrasher and get them to become fans.
Here’s the deal: If I get 1000 fans before the end of the month, I will re-record the Halo song and release it for free on the facebook page. And who doesn’t like free music?
Just heard back from CD Baby; apparently some art files were corrupted and the short delay turned into a long delay when the holidays hit and I didn’t contact them. But everything’s being sorted out now and we should start seeing the CD pop up in the near future. I’m attempting to get all my social pages updated. The facebook page needs some friends, and the myspace page needs help. But the twitter page is finally up, and the YouTube page is still good.
Anywhoo, for the latest, you can subscribe to the feed (or even get it in your mailbox). If you’re really pumped, you can follow me on twitter. When the CD is available, you’ll be the first to know.
So here’s this fancy new website. You can see a smattering of updates below, and I’m hard at work getting the rest of the site up to speed. I’d love to be able to say that the site will be done when the album is released, but I have no idea how long my distributor is going to take. I’d love to be able to say the album will be released when the site is done, but again, I have no idea how long my distributor is going to take. Patience is always a virtue, right? To keep track of me, you can always read my blog.
This is a text only post as a test. Does it work? I don’t know…
